Section OneWho we are

SportyPreneurs is a members club connecting entrepreneurs, investors and executives through sport. The club and this website are operated by Life Intelligence Group Pty Ltd (ACN 630 069 573), which is the party responsible for the personal information collected here — the data controller, in the language of most privacy laws.

A dedicated SportyPreneurs entity is being established. When it is, this notice will be updated to name it, and your information will transfer to it on the same terms set out here. We will not quietly change what we do with your data as part of that move.

Because our members and applicants are based across the UAE, Europe, the UK, Australia and elsewhere, we aim to meet the standard set by the strictest law that applies to you — including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, the EU and UK GDPR, and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Section TwoWhat we collect

Almost everything we hold about you is information you typed into our membership application yourself. Specifically:

• Who you are — first and last name, work email address, mobile number, country of residence and city.
• What you do — company, job title, company website, LinkedIn profile (optional), whether you own the business, and a self-selected annual revenue range for that business.
• How you found us — your referral source, and whether an existing member referred you.
• What you tell us — the free-text answers about the value you are looking for and the sports you play, if you choose to complete them.
• Technical information — anonymised usage data from our analytics, and the IP address recorded by our form provider when you submit, which is used to block spam and abuse.

Section ThreeWhy we collect it

We use your application for three things and nothing else:

• Assessing your membership — our membership committee reviews every application personally. The revenue range and business details are how we judge fit; the sports answers are how we shape your first introductions and games.
• Contacting you about your application — by email or phone, to ask follow-up questions, arrange an introductory conversation, or confirm the outcome.
• Running and improving the club — understanding, in aggregate, where applicants come from and which chapters to open next.

Our legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the box and submit the application, together with our legitimate interest in assessing prospective members and operating the club. We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not profile you beyond the human review described above.

We will not add you to a general marketing list on the strength of an application. If we later want to send you club news unrelated to your application, we will ask you separately.

Section FourWhere your data is stored

We are a small club and we use established third-party services rather than running our own infrastructure. This means your application data physically leaves the country you submitted it from. Here is precisely where it goes:

Where your data is transferred out of the UAE, the EEA or the UK, that transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with these providers, which contractually oblige them to protect your data to the standard of your home jurisdiction. You are entitled to ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.

Section FiveWho can see it

Inside the club, your application is visible only to the members of our membership committee and the small operations team supporting them. Outside it, your information is shared only with the service providers listed above, each of which processes it on our instructions and is not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we do not intend to.
• We do not share it with other members, sponsors or commercial partners without asking you first.
• If you tell us a current member referred you, we may confirm that with them. Nothing else from your application is shared with the referrer.
• We will disclose information where we are legally required to — a court order, a regulator, or a law enforcement request we are obliged to honour.

Section SixHow long we keep it

• If you become a member — we keep your application as part of your membership record for as long as you are a member, and for two years afterwards.
• If your application is unsuccessful, or we do not proceed — we keep it for twelve months, so that we can recognise you if circumstances change or you reapply, and then delete it.
• Analytics data — retained for fourteen months, then automatically deleted by Google.

You do not have to wait for these periods to run. Ask us to delete your application at any point and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.

Section SevenYour rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, we will honour the following on request:

• Access — ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you.
• Correction — have anything inaccurate or out of date fixed.
• Deletion — have your application and associated records erased.
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without needing to give a reason. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object or restrict — object to a particular use of your data, or ask us to pause processing while a concern is resolved.

Email us and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity first — usually just by replying from the email address on your application.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you are entitled to complain to your data protection authority: the UAE Data Office in the UAE, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, your national supervisory authority in the EU, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia.

Section EightCookies & analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people move through it — which sections hold attention, and where applications get abandoned. It sets cookies on your device and records a truncated version of your IP address. We have not enabled advertising features, remarketing or cross-site tracking, and we do not use advertising pixels.

You can opt out at any time using Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.

Section NineSecurity

The site is served over HTTPS and your application is encrypted in transit. Our providers encrypt it at rest. Access to applications is limited to the people who need it to assess your membership, over accounts protected by multi-factor authentication.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires, and tell you plainly what happened.

For anything about your data — a copy, a correction, a deletion, or a question about this notice — write to us. A person reads these.

This notice sits alongside the Life Intelligence Group privacy policy and terms and conditions. Where the two differ on the handling of a SportyPreneurs membership application, this page is the one that applies.

We will update this page as the club grows and our arrangements change. If we make a change that materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
